After a recent tour of one of the last remaining pit tanneries in the UK, we discovered a batch of hand-waxed, indigo bridle leather. We hadn’t seen this colour before but liked it immediately and bought the lot.
Bridle is usually available in traditional colours (browns, blacks and tans) for saddlery, with only red, green and navy produced as the ‘racy’ colours. Our new indigo bridle leather has a lovely tone and texture - similar to denim - with colour variations throughout.
We think that red stitching complements indigo and works particularly well with nickel fittings.
For too many years our canine friends have been fobbed off with a limited range of colours but we hope that now, given the choice, the popularity of indigo will go through the woof.
