Mia Sabel hosted a leather demonstration at Fortnum & Mason on Wednesday 21st March as part of the QEST Crafting Excellence exhibition at their Piccadilly store.

At this event she talked about leather types, sources and tanning methods, as well as describing the specific properties of the leather that she has chosen for her range of products that are exclusive to Fortnums.

In addition, she also demonstrated some of the traditional skills and techniques that she employs to make her range of SABEL Saddlery products.

During this informal, breakfast event she was also happy to answer specific questions about the best practice for the care and maintenance of leather. Everyone seemed to get something out of the session, and enjoyed their croissants, and tea from Fortnum’s silver teapots! Mia was also delighted to receive a stunning bouquet of flowers from the exhibition sponsor Clive Christian.

Mia will be at Fortnum’s again on the evening of 14 June for a Commissioning Evening.
